Easy Crochet Phone Purse with Pocket
The Anything Sling
So many have requested I design a bag for just your phone and a pocket for money. This is what I came up with! I’ve dubbed it the Anything Sling because you could use it for anything you deem necessary, really! A water bottle sling, a hand sanitizer sling—just any little essentials you want to put in there!

Supplies Needed: -100-150 yds of size 5 bulky weight yarn (I used Bernat Home Maker Dec and Lion Brand Rewind Tape yarns for mine.)

Size 6.0 mm J and 3.75 mm F hooks

Piece of vinyl or strong fabric cut to size 4.25” (11 cm) long x 3” (8 cm) wide (I got my vinyl fabric on the roll at Hobby Lobby in their ribbon section near the fabric. You can also find vinyl in the Cricut section of most craft stores.)
Rotary cutter with both smooth and perforated blades (Optional, but will make it much easier if you have these items.) https://amzn.to/3ib7lKj

Quilting ruler and cutting mat (Optional, but will make it much easier if you have these items.)

2 1” wooden rings (Optional. You can sew your straps directly to your sling if you’d like, or you can get some small D rings.) https://amzn.to/2A8vkJ0
Embroidery thread or cotton thread to sew on vinyl pocket, approximately 2-2.5’ long https://amzn.to/3dyW7Mg
1 20 mm wooden bead with large center hole for drawstring (Optional. You can simply tie your strings if you’d like.)
2 8-12 mm beads with large center holes for bottom of drawstring (Optional.)
Tape measure, scissors, yarn needle and stitch marker
Terminology Used: Pattern is in US terminology.
Chain(s) - ch(s)
Decrease - dec
Fasten Off - FO
Single Crochet - sc
Slip Stitch - sl st
Stitch(es) - st(s)
Special Stitches:
Dropped Single Crochet- DSC
Place hook in top of sc below ch 1 sp 2 rounds below. YO, pull up a tall loop. Work sc as usual.
Gauge: Not essential due to the simple use of st multiples
Finished Measurements: My sling measures approximately 8” x 4” (20 x 10 cm). The pocket is 4.25” x 3” (11 x 7.5 cm). The strap is 60” (152 cm) in length. Your sling may measure differently if your phone is a different size than mine.
